Opening of a new railway crossing Altynkol – Khorgos on the Kazakhstan-Chinese border made positive impact on Kazakhstan’s position in the ranking of the World Bank ”Doing Business” (”Ease of Doing Business”) in 2015. This was said on the Eurasian Business Forum held in Almaty, by co-author of the report group WB «Doing Business 2015″ (“Doing Business 2015”) Irina Belotserkovskaya.
”At the report <Doing Business 2015> for the period of June 2013 to June 2014, we noted the reform in the indicator <international trade>, which helped to improve the transit time of 20-foot containers on the segment of China – Almaty road, thanks to the opening of a new crossing point at Khorgos. Rating Kazakhstan rose up one place from 186th to the 185th at the indicator “international trade,” Irina Belotserkovskaya co-author of the report group WB “Doing Business 2015” said.
WB representative explained that the determination of the indicator “international trade”, the bank’s experts look at the various components that affect the process of export and import, including document preparation, customs clearance, transportation and port operations (research presume that the goods are carried by sea).
