In its 30 years of existence, the Company has accumulated a lot of knowledge and competences in the field of signalling systems for railway infrastructure and vehicles. The results of the accumulation are easily visible – export of systems to over 50 countries worldwide, numerous partners and collaborations on all continents and a broad product portfolio. Projects that ALTPRO is currently working on also testify to the success of the Company. In its domestic Croatian market, ALTPRO is currently working on the installation of over 120 new level crossings, modernization of more than 40 locations, equipping of the newly built line Križevci – Koprivnica – state border, the modernization of the rolling stock of the infrastructure manager HŽ Infrastruktura… Likewise, due to large investments, not only in Croatia but also in the region, the Company participates and manages projects in all neighboring countries.
The increased number of projects requires increased production capacities. For this reason the new production facility of 3500 square meters has been opened, where the systems that ALTPRO markets will be produced using the latest technologies. At full capacity, 120 people will work in the facility which will increase the Company’s current production capacity by roughly 100%.
New premises as well as research/development equipment acquired as part of the project enable ALTPRO to enter new and innovative production areas, some of which will be presented at Innotrans 2024.
Complete rolling stock life cycle management
In the field of rolling stock solutions, ALTPRO comes to Innotrans with more new and exciting news. One of them is certainly the new maintenance facility which is currently being renovated to accomodate railway vehicles for various activities. These activities include installation of the ATP system, regular maintenance, spare parts management and more complex actions such as rail wheel reprofiling. By investing in this maintenance faclity ALTPRO becomes one of the strongest maintainers in the SEE region, and certainly the most modern.
In order for the Company to be able to maintain railway vehicles, an ECM4 certificate was obtained for performing maintenance for all types of locomotives. The maintenance of the locomotives will be handled by experienced technicians with various certificates necessary in this field. Using mobile teams and the possibility of managing spare parts on its own as well as being equipped with tools/measuring devices will enable ALTPRO to reduce downtime and increase the availability of rolling stock
In addition to rolling stock maintenance, ALTPRO is able to offer its customers guidance through the complex process of placing new types of vehicles on the railway networks of Southeast Europe. Experienced team guides clients through all phases of the process, ensuring that every step is carefully planned and executed. ALTPRO can offer services for creating technical solutions for market adaptation, defining and installing equipment, organizing test drives and obtaining a permit. This comprehensive service makes it easier for customers to enter the Southeast European market.
Preventive and corrective maintenance and the seamless introduction of a vehicles to a certain railway form a solid foundation for a sustainable market performance.
Integrated rolling stock solutions
Connecting with leaders in the railway industry whose products make a complementary solution with ALTPRO is one of the main goals of the Company. Offering a complete solution to the rail operator has become the standard and this is what makes the difference in the market. Years of experience with customers from all over the world, as well as technological trends in the industry point to that path. Company’s products such as RAS90 (INDUSI PZB90) are designed to be modular and flexible and act as a kind of platform ready for integration with other solutions, but at the same time preserving its independence as an ATP system. This is why today it can be said that ALTPRO products are able to be integrated into all types of vehicles, meeting the high requirements of safety, availability and reliability, with the full support during integration, development and exploitation. In addition to the entire spectrum of INDUSI equipment, the Company offers clients equipment specially developed for preventive and corrective maintenance of the ATP system, thus closing the entire life cycle of the product.
Decarbonization of railway traffic – hydrogen as a solution
Decarbonization of railway transport is a very important and broad topic in railways today. ALTPRO has recognized it and for the past few years has been building competencies and solutions in that area. The instability of energy prices, the complexity of vehicles powered by traditional fuels and other factors motivated the Company to focus on solving this challenge using the advantages of hydrogen as an energy source. There are many locomotives currently on the market that desperately need a “new life”, and a complete retrofit could just be the solution.
Infrastructure signalling
The biggest innovation that the Company wants to present in the field of infrastructure signaling is the new generation of the APAX axle counter, which will be presented at Innotrans in its final stages. ALTPRO has been researching axle counter technology for over 25 years and APAX is the crown of the accumulation of knowledge and experience gathered from all 6 continents where existing solutions are installed. In the development process, experiences from the most difficult markets, requirements from the most demanding customers were taken into account and all this was combined into a product which will be highly competitive.
Through various integrator projects in the region, ALTPRO was restructured and gathered a wide range of competences in the field of design, assembly and construction, cabling, technical adjustment of signalling devices, technical protection, video surveillance and fire alarm and telecommunications. Altpro has developed its own power subsystem as well as SCADA system for large projects.
Considering the strengthening of its own range of products and services, the Company can cope with the most demanding challenges of integration, development, production and installation of advanced systems, which has been recognized by multinational technology companies and large customers. Although ALTPRO is actively engaged in integrator projects, the concentration on research and production still remains strong. The main products are a complete device for securing level crossings and devices for the detection of various types of railway vehicles.
