On 23 October 2015, Elisabeth Borne, President of RATP, and Henri Poupart-Lafarge, President of Alstom Transport, celebrated the production of the 67th and final train of the MP05 metro contract.
The contract, signed in 2005, comprises 67 trains destined for line 1 and 14 of the Paris metro network. 60 MP05 trains are currently in circulation and have already covered over 12 million kilometres.
The MP05 train was initially designed and delivered in the context of the automation of Line 1 of the Paris network, replacing the manually-driven MP89 trains. It was later gradually introduced on Line 14.
Every train can transport up to 1014 passengers at maximum speeds of 80 km/h. Each train is 90 metres long and composed of 6 cars, each one equipped with 3 doors on either side. The MP05 trains put great emphasis on passenger comfort and security and are part of the company’s strategy for sustainable development. The material also benefits from the latest technological developments in terms of automation.
