The municipal government of Rijeka has signed an agreement with railway infrastructure manager HZ Infrastruktura, the municipal authority of Bakar and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county to co-finance the drafting of project documentation for the construction of a second track and modernisation of the Skrljevo-Rijeka-Jurdani railway section.
The drafting of project documentation is estimated at EUR 10 million. HZ Infrastruktura, as the project leader, has already been granted approx. EUR 8.5 million from EU funds towards the cost of the project.

The companies have until 14 December to deliver the documents, which include an environmental impact study, a feasibility study and a study of economic and financial viability, a preliminary design with location permits, and a final design.
