Adif allocates EUR 28.4 million for the maintenance of its high voltage lines

Spanish railway infrastructure manager Adif will allocate 28.4 million euros to the comprehensive maintenance of the high voltage lines of Adif and Adif Alta Velocidad, over a period of three years, including a possible extension of two more years.

The contract – through two lots, corresponding to the North and South zones – includes preventive and corrective maintenance and the execution of auxiliary works on the high voltage lines of Adif and Adif AV which, for the most part, feed railway traction substations and supply energy to other facilities and transformation centres for uses other than traction.

The action includes the provision of a cyclical maintenance service, which includes periodic inspections and on-call service in the event of incidents; while maintenance according to condition will be provided based on the situation of each asset.

In addition, infrastructure improvement works are planned, such as changes in the route with the occupation of new land, among others. This service will be managed under a framework agreement, without any firm commitment.

This action contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), which includes among its goals the development of reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructures.
