Tampere Tramway and the City of Tampere appointed the consortium comprising YIT, NRC Group Finland Oy, Sweco Infra & Rail Oy and Pöyry Finland Oy to develop the tram extension.
The contract is an extension for the ongoing Alliance contract.
The consortium will jointly design and build 0,7 km extension for the new tramline along the street Hatanpään valtatie and will involve rail services such as track, electric system and groundwork.
The work will commence in December and the project is scheduled for completion in September 2022.
The value of the contract is over EUR 21 million.
