Société du Réseau Ferroviaire Rapide de Tunis has recently published the first pictures of the Korean trains for Tunis, manufactured by Hyundai.
The vehicles will run on the first E line of the Rapid Railway Network Réseau Ferroviaire Rapide – RFR).
Measuring 107 m and weighing 210 tonnes, the trains can reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h. According to the company, they are equipped with latest generation technology, especially regarding communications and control.
Korean trains for Tunis will arrive at the end of August
At the end of this month, preparations for the reception of two electric trains of the total 28 included in the contract will be completed.
Line E, which connects Barcelona Square to Mallassine, Hay Hlel, Hay Zouhour, Croisement Ben Daha and Bougatfa Station, should be operational next January.
