EXO, a public transit authority in Montréal, ordered 20 additional double-decker passenger coaches from CRRC Tangshan.
In November 2017, the authority ordered 24 double-decker passenger coaches, bringing a total 44 double-decker passenger coaches, including 8 cab cars and 36 trailer cars.
The coaches are to be put into commercial operation on Deux-Montagnes line. From 2020 the new vehicles are expected to replace some of the vehicles operating on the Candiac Line.
As CRRC explores the rail passenger market, the company intends to establish a rail industry and supply chain based in Canada.
