Société du Grand Paris awarded Salini Impregilo a EUR 718.8 million contract for the civil works on Grand Paris Express Line 16.
The contract concerns the Lot 2 and involves the excavation of 11.1 km of tunnel and the construction of 4 stations at Aulnay, Sevran-Beaudottes, Sevran-Livry and Clichy Montfermeil, along with 11 related works.
The commissioning of this section is planned for 2024.
Salini Impregilo will assign 20% of the value of the contract to local subcontractors and employ disadvantaged workers for 5% of the total number of hours estimated to be needed to complete its section of the metro line.
Grand Paris Express Line 16 will have a length of 29 km served by 10 stations, of which 8 will be transit stations. The traffic on Line 16 is estimated at 200,000 passengers per day. the total value of the project is EUR 5.5 billion.
The line will offer metro connections for 16 districts within 2 departments, Seine-Saint-Denis and Seine-et-Marne.
