On 13 August, CFR Calatori, the Romanian national rail passenger operator, assigned four procurement framework agreements for “General repair services for passenger coaches” valid for 24 months, for 371 passenger coaches. The four framework agreements were signed with two Romanian companies, Astra Vagoane Calatori and Atelierele CFR Grivita and the total cost amounts to almost RON 240 million, VAT excluded (EUR 51.5 million).
Thus, Lot 1 includes general repair services, replacement of monobloc wheels, axles, worn or failing brake disks at the set of wheels, reconstruction of anti-corrosive protection and complete repainting in polyurethane system for the passenger coaches 1070, 1090, 1091 series.
The framework agreement was signed with Astra Vagoane Calatori for a total cost of Ron 31.91 million, VAT excluded (EUR 6.8 million).
Lot 2 includes general repair services, replacement of monobloc wheels, axles, worn or failing brake disks at the set of wheels, reconstruction of anti-corrosive protection and complete repainting in polyurethane system for the passenger coaches 2176, 2186, 8487, 8987, 2087, 2187 series.
The framework contract was assigned to the same Arad-based company, Astra Vagoane Calatori, and is estimated at RON 129.10 million, VAT excluded (EUR 27.7 million).
Lot 3 refers to general repair services, replacement of monobloc wheels, axles, worn or failing brake disks at the set of wheels, reconstruction of anti-corrosive protection and complete repainting in polyurethane system for the passenger coaches 2296, 8483, 8496, 8476, 8576, 8676 series.
This framework agreement was signed with rolling stock repair company Ateliere CFR Grivita with a total estimated value of RON 45.64 million, VAT excluded (EUR 9.8 million).
Lot 4 includes general repair services, replacement of monobloc wheels, axles, worn or failing brake disks at the set of wheels, reconstruction of anti-corrosive protection and complete repainting in polyurethane system for the passenger coaches 3076, 2276, 8376 series.
The framework agreement was signed with Atelierele CFR Grivita with a total estimated cost of RON 27.59 million, VAT excluded (EUR 6 million).
As the repaired coaches will resume services, the number of trains could be increased to meet the comfort and mobility expectations of passengers.
