Warsaw Metro announced on April 18 that it has received one offer for the extension of the Line 2 with 4 km and 3 stations to the north-east direction, from Trocka to Bródno. The consortium formed by Gülermak (Turkey), its Polish subsidiary, Gülermak Spółka, and Astaldi, submitted a EUR 334.6 million (PLN 1.4 billion).
The price has the most share of the evaluation criteria, with 60 percent, followed by the extension of the warranty period for defects of construction (32 percent). The construction works should be completed within 38 months of contract signing.
This project’s stage will include the construction of Zacisze, Kondratowicza and Bródno stations.
The tender for this contract was launched in February 2018.
The 6-km Dworzec Wileński – Rondo Daszyńskiego is the first section of the metro Line M2, which was inaugurated in 2015. It was built by a joint venture between Gülermak and the Polish company PBDIM.
Currently, construction works are carried out on a 3.5 km extension from Rondo Daszyńskiego to Ksiecia Janusza, on the Western section and for a 3-km extension from Dworzec Wileński to Trocka, on North-East section.
Last year, the European Commission announced that EU invested EUR 432 million, out of a total cost of nearly EUR 749 million, in the extension of city’s metro line 2.
When completed, Line 2 is expected to be 32 km long and to have 27 stations.
