A modern train-set for Baku Metropolitan has been sent by Metrovagonmash, part of Transmashholding, to the Azerbaijan capital of Baku. The contract for the supply of 2 five-car train sets of the new 81-765/766 model, known as “Moskva”, was signed on 16 February 2018. The second train-set is expected to be manufactured and delivered to Baku Metro in April this year.
The new 81-765/766 model cars have a through passage and wider doorways, as well as a new door opening/closing light warning system. A number of innovations also distinguish the trains. Their design uses a new modern asynchronous traction drive, and provides noise and heat insulation of the cars. Air conditioning and ventilation systems are used in the passenger saloons. The trains are equipped with sockets for charging electronic devices, and have a special space for bicycles and wheelchairs.
A distinctive color scheme is specifically designed for the Baku metro trains, which are equipped with an interactive panel adjusted to local conditions. Each train-set has two head cars and three intermediate motor cars. The estimated wagons service life is 31 years.
