The European Investment Bank has under appraisal the development of Stockholm metro system, which envisages the construction of three extensions with a total length of 19.6 km and 11 underground stations.
The total value of the project is EUR 2.65 billion (SEK 26.57 billion), of which the EIB proposed finance is EUR 774.8 million (SEK 7.75 billion).
The project consists of three separate deep underground line extensions to the Stockholm Metro. The extensions are for Arenastaden, Barkarby and Nacka och Söderort.
The metro extension for Arenastaden will run on a 4.1 km line served by 3 stations from Odenplan via Hagastaden to Arenastaden in Solna.
The Barkarby line, which will have a length of 4 km and 2 stations will extended from Akalla to Barkarby.
The extension to Nacka och Söderort envisages the construction of a 11.5 km line with 6 stations and will run from the Royal Garden, via the Södermalm to Nacka Center.
