Thomas Kargl, Chairman of the Rail Cargo Group and TransContainer CEO, Petr Baskakov, signed a Memorandum on Understating on the evaluation of the possibility of establishment of a Joint Venture registered in Austria.
“This step unites two experts in the railway logistics sector, thereby offering our Chinese customers a real and, above all, high-quality alternative to other routes and production methods,” says a convinced Thomas Kargl.
This JV will provide operational support to door to door service on the route China – Europe – China and perform marketing activity.
“Transit transportation between China and Europe is the most rapidly growing segment of container market. We expect the incorporation of PJSC TransContainer’s competences and technologies within 1520 gauge area and Rail Cargo Austria AG’s possibilities within European railways, in particular in Central and South-East Europe, to give a boost to development of railway transit on the route China – Europe – China and to offer our clients reliable and competitive transport solution,” Petr Baskakov, TransContainer CEO said.
The document was signed within the same ceremony, when the Transport Ministers of Russia and Austria signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of rail freight and passenger transport.
