RZD and the Administración de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias Sociedad del Estado (State-Enterprise Administration of Railway Infrastructure) of Argentina have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to develop rail transport.
The document was signed by Alexander Misharin, First Deputy Managing Director of RZD, and Guillermo Fiad, President of the Administración de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias, during a meeting of the Argentina-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties declared their readiness to undertake joint actions to develop and expand ties in the field of railway transport, in particular, the construction of railway infrastructure, in order to achieve mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of Argentina’s railway system.
The memorandum includes an agreement of the parties to hold consultations on determining strategic directions for the development of rail transport and promising joint infrastructure projects in Argentina.
