According to the draft consolidated financial plan of the company for 2018, Ukrzaliznytsia plans for 2018 repair works worth UAH 9.6 billion (EUR 271.5 million), which is 60.4% more than the plan for 2017, Interfax reports. “The physical state of fixed assets is in an extremely unsatisfactory condition, many objects (including rolling stock) having overdue repair terms. Thus, fixed assets require a significant amount of repair work,” the financial plan shows.
Of the planned funds for repairs, the largest share is that of repair of facilities. The repairs of locomotives will require UAH 2.1 billion (EUR 59.3 million), tracks some UAH 2.5 billion (EUR 70.7 million), wagons for suburban passenger traffic some UAH 800 million (EUR 22.6 million) and passenger carriages some UAH 1 billion (EUR 28.2 million).
The company also plans to repair 870 km of track for UAH 560 million (EUR 15.8 million), reconstruct 560 km of track for UAH 87 million (EUR 2.4 million), replace metal parts of 210 crossing sets for UAH 134 million (EUR 3.7 million), and repair 790 sets for UAH 179 million (EUR 5 million).
