Bulgaria will launch tenders for the overhaul of of three railway sections and six rail stations, according to Hristo Alexiev, board chairman of state-owned Narional Railway Infrastructure Company. The three railway sections are Plovdiv-Burgas, Kostenets-Elin Pelin, and Kostenets-Septemvri.
As part of the rehabilitation of the Plovdiv-Burgas stretch, a tender will be launched for the modernisation of part of the railroad linking the towns of Orizovo and Mihaylovo. The project for the modernisation of the Elin Pelin-Kostenets stretch envisages three tenders for reconstruction of sections of the railroad, as well as a tender for the construction of two traction substations. Financial details were not disclosed.
