RZD may give up its controlling stake in the intermodal freight transport operator TransContainer. The Russian government does not exclude a possibility of a partial sale of RZD’s stake in TransContainer. RZD currently owns a 50% stake + 2 shares in TransContainer via Integrated Transport & Logistics Company (OTLK).
RZD believes that the most advantageous scenario will be obtaining a strategic investor for the company. This will accelerate the growth of TransContainer‘s income, allowing it to achieve a RUB 8.5bn (USD 143.2m) net profit and a RUB 18.22bn (USD 306.9m) EBITDA in 2021. TransContainer will also receive investments from the strategic investor into its container infrastructure.
