The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) approved the construction authorization from the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) directing CSX Transportation (CSXT), Ohio-Rail Corporation (OHIC) and Indiana & Ohio Railway (IORY) to make improvements at rail crossings in Ashland, Carroll, Clinton, Franklin and Hamilton counties.
Under the project, CSXT will install lights and gates at the Township Road 1101 grade crossing, Ashland County, and will install updated circuitry and LED lights at the Kinnear Road, Franklin County. OHIC will install lights and gates at the Arrow Road/ County Road 15 and Arbor Road/County Road 14 grade crossings, Carroll County. IORY will install lights and gates at the Cuba Road/ County Road 8 grade crossing and the Doan Street grade crossing, Wilmington, Clinton County; and also at the Camargo Road grade crossing, Madeira, Hamilton County.
The Kinnear Road project will be completed by 25 January 2108. All other grade crossing improvement projects will be completed by 25 Octomber 2017. Federal funding for these projects is provided through the ORDC.
