The Regional Transportation District (RTD)’s new light rail train service through Aurora will open on 24 February. The $687 million R Line has eight stations and runs 22 miles between Lincoln Avenue and the station at Peoria Street and I-70.
The R Line was built by Kiewit Infrastructure. The line was supposed to open in 2016, but was delayed due to problems with equipment. Ridership on the line is expected to hit an average 12,000 people per weekday by February 2018.
