Following opposition to the tariffs increase, Italian state railway company Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) halved the price hike for high-speed rail (HSR) commuter passes. The measure came after FS CEO Renato Mazzoncini discussed the issue at a hearing in the Senate.
The price increase for the most common passes (without fixed schedule during the working week) will be thus of 10%. The company will reimburse the difference in price for those who have already paid. This measure is one of the first transitional measures to be brought in ahead of definitive solutions by June, when a technical meeting will be held.
