New Vienna’s tram design unveiled

BOMBARDIER FLEXITY WIENVienna’s Councillor, Ulli Sima, the CEO of Wiener Linen Günter Steinbauer and Bombardier-Austria CEO Christian Diewald, have presented the design of the new trams. In the same time, it was launched the production of the new vehicles. “The modern Flexity trams for Vienna will be put into services at the end of 2018 and will successively replace the last high-flown models. Wiener Linien is investing in the rolling stock fleet modernisation,” Ulli Sima said.
Before passengers can use the first tram, extensive tests will be carried out from the beginning of 2018. In total, the order covers up to 156 new trams and includes the maintenance contract. viena-interior
“The interior of the new tram is flexible. We meet the needs of our passengers. The new trams are wider, with special seats for mothers and children, and additional wheelchair spaces and openly designed multi-purpose areas,”said Günter Steinbauer, CEO of Wiener Linien said.
The new tram has a 34 meters length and accommodates up to 211 passengers.
