Saudi Railway Company has granted Thales a one year renewable maintenance contract for the North South Railway project crossing Saudi Arabia.
The maintenance contract includes the corrective activities as well as predictive maintenance. This will enable rail operators to fix assets before they fail. This maintenance contract is extendable in the coming years.
The North-South Railway (NSR) project involves the construction of 2,400 km of freight and passenger track. The 1,486 km freight line Al Jalamid-Az Zabirah has been operational since November 2015. The 1,418 km passenger line Riyadh-Haditha will be operational at the end of 2016.
