Telefonica Mexico has announced that it has connected a total of 16 stations on the Guadalajara light rail system to its 3G network. The system serves the municipalities of Guadalajara, Zapopan and Tlaquepaque in the state of Jalisco and users will now be able to browse the internet on the move at up to 8 Mbps and upload content at 1.5 Mbps. The network covers platforms as well as all tunnels on the light rail system, said Telefonica, adding that it has now brought mobile connectivity to a total of 145 stations and 150 tunnels on public transport systems in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.
