Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar inaugurated the newly electrified 109 km Pragersko-Hodos railway line. The value of the project was EUR 466 million. About EUR 23 mln of the cost of the project came from the European Union’s Cohesion Fund.
The line is used to bring freight from Slovenia’s Koper port to Eastern Europe. About 20% of the freight from the port has ties to Hungary, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said. Hungarian companies ship or receive 170,000 containers through the port every year, he added.
