Under the CEF, Polish Railways will receive a PLN 6.3 billion (EUR 1.4 billion) co-financing for the implementation railway projects worth PLN 8.1 billion (EUR 1.84 billion). The agreement for the co-financing was signed on May 30.
The company plans to launch 7 railway projects that involves the modernisation of 570 km of railway lines.
The investments to be financed under the CEF are:
• the upgrading of Rawicz – Czempiń line as part of the Wrocław – Poznań mainline
• the modernisation of Sadowne – Białystok, the Warsaw – Bialystok connection within Rail Baltica
• the modernisation of Sochaczew – Swarzędz section, a key component of Wrocław – Poznań mainline
• Poznań – Szczecin line moderisation
• Warszawa Włochy – Pruszków – Grodzisk Mazowiecki route modernisation
• the modernisation of Warsaw railway ring, on Warszawa Golabki/Warszawa Zachodnia–Warszawa Gdanska section
• the construction of overpasses at Central Railway Line
In addition to these projects, the Poland’s infrastructure manager is seeking a PLN 7 billion (EUR 1.6 billion) EU co-financing for other 10 projects, under the second CEF call. The projects include the modernisation of Czyżew – Białystok section on Warszawa – Białystok route, Kraków – Katowice, Siedlce – Terespol, Wrocław – Zgorzelec lines.
