Consolidated sales of Latvian train engine repair company Daugavpils Lokomotivju Remonta Rupnica (DLRR) decreased by 37% in the first quarter of 2016 to 2.3 million euros. DLRR finished the first quarter of 2016 with a loss of 0.96 million euros compared to a loss of 0.923 million euros in Q1 2015.
During the period, DLRR exported its products to eight countries, the total export volume amounting to 1.8 million euros, compared to 2.7 million euros in Q1 2015. The main export directions were Estonia, Poland, Lithuania, Russia, Uzbekistan and Belarus.
Significant losses were firstly related to the sales agreements in Russian ruble, as well due to only partial work load during the period. In the first quarter, the group implemented costs optimization, reduction in the number of employees and gave up unprofitable activities.
