By 2018, Transmashholding will switch to manufacturing its own motors, according to Alexander Nosov, Head – Traction Generator and Motor Project with NEVZ (Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Building Plant), RRC Rail reports. Currently Transmashholding buys motors from the Ukrainian Elektrotyazhmash.
“NEVZ is becoming the only plant manufacturing motors for the entire holding. NEVZ was appointed the center of competence as we have good manufacturing capacities and manufacture most of motors,” Alexander Nosov said.
Transmashholding needs 1,500-2,000 motors yearly.
