Two train sets of innovative EG2Tv EMU known as Ivolga, manufactured by Tver Carriage Plant Works (TVZ), arrived at the final stage of acceptance and certification testing. EG2Tv Ivolga is the first representative of the Russian platform of new-generation EMUs, which incorporated the most advanced technical solutions.
After successful completion of static test sequence, the first Ivolga electric multiple unit train proceeded to dynamic testing on the Belorechensk-Maykop high-speed test section of the Northern Caucasus Railway. It will be tested for 14 criteria under full and empty load at various speeds.
The second Ivolga EMU returned to TVZ after completion of tests on the Test Loop of Joint Stock Company Railway Research Institute at Shcherbinka station.
Final test results of both EMUs will be submitted to an interdepartmental acceptance commission, and the conformity certificate will be obtained thus permitting to commence Ivolga operation on public railway tracks.
