Union Pacific plans to invest USD 54 million in 2016 to improve Missouri’s railway infrastructure. Under the company’s program, USD 38.7 million will be invested to maintain the railway track and USD 15.5 milion, to maintain bridges in the state. The projects include USD 9.6 million to replace nearly 71,000 rail ties on Annapolis – Poplar Bluff line and USD 9.1 million o replace more than 70,000 rail ties on Valley Park- Pacific- Washington – Jefferson City line.
This year’s planned USD 54 million capital expenditure in Missouri is part of an ongoing investment strategy. From 2011 to 2015 Union Pacific invested nearly USD 195 million strengthening Missouri’s transport infrastructure.
