On 13 May, Astra Vagoane Călători participated in the tram exhibition organised in Oradea to celebrate the 110 years of electric tram transport in the city located in the west of Romania.
Thus, local public transport operator, OTL Oradea, presented both old, Vienna-style, trams which recall the beginnings of urban rail public transport and the latest 100% Romanian tram manufactured in Arad.
The design of the “Autentic” tram concept has been developed in Astra Vagoane Călători’s own research & development department based on the previous experience with modern trams designed to meet passenger’s requirements. The result is a “state-of-the-art” tram which combines the company’s previous experience with the latest equipment solutions. The “Autentic” tram meets specific standards and norms, provides increased comfort and passenger safety, as well as optimised exploitation for operators.
The tram has modular concept, attractive design and its configuration is adapted to face the variate market demands regarding price costs, exploitation quality and maintenance. “Autentic” is the latest tram developed by Astra Vagoane Călători to provide improved mobility in crowded cities.
The tram has customised features, modern and attractive design, double-leaf access doors with a total length of 1300mm on one side or on both sides, according to the customer’s requirements and provides easy and rapid access for passengers. This new product features 100% low-floor for improved comfort.
Oradea is a promoter of public rail transport being the first city in Romania after the 1990s to buy new trams. The city has procured 10 Siemens ULF trams which have been running in Oradea since 2008 and which were also present at the exhibition organised in OTL depot.
