Kolomensky Zavod has delivered to Bryansk Engineering Plant a diesel generator set. Both plants belong to the Transmashholding Group. The engine is designed for new Bryansk freight diesel locomotives of 2TE25Km model.
In comparison with mass production diesel locomotives, the Bryansk loco ensures for increase of hauled freight trains mass and reduction of operational costs. The generator is mainly achieved by improving engine capacity utilization factor and increase of weight on driving axles. 2TE25Km diesel locomotive is the first loco in Russia certified under the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union.
18-9DG diesel engine is a 16-cylinder diesel generator of 2650kW. For more than ten years the diesel generator has been supplied to Lugansk Diesel Locomotive Plant.
About 196 generator sets are expected to be delivered to BMZ in 2016.
