Iceland’s high speed train gets an approval

Islanda_city-center-hotelReykjavik City authorities voted the existing plans – a 175 km/h high-speed train from the city to the airport in under twenty minutes – through to the relevant council environmental and planning division.
The contract involves Reykjavik and other municipalities enabling in their planning documentation for the railway line and other facilities. This work will be coordinated by the Association of Greater Reykjavik Municipalities (SSH).
The planned train will travel between Reykjavik’s BSÍ bus station and Keflavík International Airport (KEF) with stops in urban areas along the way.
