Huawei and RINA, a multi-national group which delivers verification, certification, conformity assessments announced the completion of interoperability testing between Huawei GSM-R BSS (Base Station Sub-System) Access Network and Nokia GSM-R NSS (Network Switching Sub-System) Core network operated by the Turkish Railways (TCDD).
The approval was granted by Italy’s RINA Services after extensive Inter-Operability Test (IOT) has been completed between GSM-R solutions of Huawei and Nokia Networks to evaluate functionality and compatibility of Huawei BSS (V901R016) and NSN NSS (CS 6.0).
TCDD’s GSM-R Network is a typical multivendor GSM-R infrastructure constructed of Nokia, Kapsch and Huawei GSM-R network elements allowing TCDD to benefit from a rich choice of products and a competitive supply chain. We carried out eight weeks of testing which included static tests performed in a lab environment in Ankara and dynamic tests along the track in the Eskisehir area. The results of these tests prove that Huawei BSS Access network and Nokia NSS Core network are interoperable and performing in accordance to applicable EIRENE requirements”, Federica Fornari, head of Railway Certification GSM-R Unit, RINA Services said.
