The Estonian railway operator EVR Cargo transported in 2014 15.79 million tonnes of cargo, a level similar to the one attained in 2013. According to board chairman Ahto Altjõe, the 2014 cargo traffic was in line with forecasts for EVR Cargo. The biggest group of transported cargo was mineral liquid fuels (6.37 million tonnes, -5.7% as compared to 2013), followed by fertilisers (6.35 million tonnes, +12%) and oil shale (2.67 million tonnes, -5.6%). Container cargo transport volume grew by 16% to 72,017 TEU.
