Bulgarian state-owned railway company BDZ may need to cut the number of its operational trains and employees following a decrease in state subsidies for 2015. 140 trains will have to be halted and 1,500 employees laid off, Vladimir Vladimirov, the company’s executive director, said. Under the 2015 state budget, BDZ will get 140 million levs (71.6 million euros) in subsidies next year, as compared to 180 million levs in 2014.
