Thales has been selected for Phase III of the Delhi metro, which includes 79 new stations and 140 km of new metro lines. The company will provide a complete automatic fare collection system as well as ticketing equipment.
Thales has been selected as partner on the Delhi metro system for more than 12 years and its fare collection solutions have been selected for lines 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8, corresponding to Phases I and II of the new metro system.
Thales fare collection systems are helping to make public transport more attractive to Delhi’s citizens and reduce congestion in an urban area where road traffic is particularly dense.
