PKP CARGO active in the automotive segment and intermodal freight transportation

In the first half of 2014, PKP CARGO signed more than 20 contracts regarding transports in the automotive segment, including new commercial agreements concerning transport of Skoda and VW vehicles.
In the second half of the year, PKP CARGO won a contract for the transport of Skoda vehicles. The transport services will be provided together with CD Cargo.
A few months before, PKP CARGO together with STVA, the French logistics operator won the contract for the transport of VW vehicles from Poznań to the terminal in the north-western Germany and back. A German railway carrier from the Captrain Group is the railway partner of PKP CARGO for that transport.
Some of the transports from the automotive segment, including the newly acquired transports of the Korean car makes, are effected in containers, or in the intermodal freight transportation system. This type of transportation is one of the key segments for PKP CARGO. Even though the transport of coal, aggregate and construction materials remains the key part of business operations for the Polish railway carrier, PKP CARGO consistently invests in the development of its competences related to the intermodal freight transportation.
