Stuttgart – Ulm is not only a German railway project that will bring increased capacity for transport in the Baden-Württemberg region, it is also an example in terms of the logistics of a large construction site, through its multiple sites, its revolutionising of a railway junction and its integration of regional suburban and high-speed transport services all coming together in one place that is currently a cul-de-sac and is designed to be transformed into a hub that offers services to all directions. In addition, this profound change also comes with the installation of digital systems that will create the first digital railway node that will also be the blueprint for future digital development projects to be carried out by DB. The project is in progress, and its first component is estimated to become operational at the end of this year.
