CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Limited (PBTS), Alstom’s Chinese joint venture, has been awarded a 27-year contract to maintain the Innovia Monorail 300 platform for Wuhu City in Anhui eastern Chinese Province.
Under the agreement, PBTS will be responsible for maintaining Wuhu Yunda Rail Transit Construction and Operation Co., Ltd.’s new monorail, expected to enter in operation at the end of 2021.
The contract comprises technical support and spare part supply as well as the labour and materials required to carry out the Innovia fleet’s corrective and preventive maintenance, and overhauls, in addition to maintaining the system’s guideway switches and depot equipment. The fleet is based on a contract PBTS signed in 2017 to supply Wuhu City’s Innovia Monorail 300 platform, along with a total of 240 cars.

Once complete, the new line (Line 1) will have a length of 30.3 km served by 24 stations, of which three are transfer stations. This line comprises 30.4 km ground and elevated line while the remaining section is underground. The line is operated by 28 six-car trains.
The second phase which will form the Line 2 will provide a 16.6-km rail connection served by 12 stations with three transfer stations. These will be the first two monorail lines in Wuhu and form the backbone of the city’s public rail transport system. This rail link is to be operated by 18 four-car trains.
CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Limited is owned at 50 per cent by Alstom Group and is consolidated by equity–method. The 50 per cent share in net income of CRRC Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Limited is included into Alstom aEBIT.
