The stops will improve the comfort of travel, including to Bytom and further to the Tarnowskie Góry and Pyrzowice Lotnisko stations. PKP PLK invested over PLN 18 million (EUR 4.2 million) in total for these works.

In Sosnowiec and Jaworzno cities, passengers will board trains from the new Sosnowiec Jęzor Południowy stop on the Katowice – Kraków railway line. The new facility will provide access to, among others, a large shopping centre. The Polish rail infrastructure manager has built two 200 m long platforms on the embankment between Orląt Lwowskich Street and the expressway S1. Some of the facilities are located on the constructed spans. PLN 17 million (almost EUR 4 million) was the investment value.

New platforms have also been built on the Częstochowa – Chorzew Siemkowice line with five platforms in the Silesian province and five in the Łódź province. Due to the implementation of this project, access to the railway for residents of the Silesian and Łódź provinces, on the railway lines connecting Częstochowa with Łódź, will increase. Completion of all works on the construction of stops and parking lots for passengers at the platforms is planned for the first quarter of 2025. The value of the works is nearly PLN 23 million (EUR 5.4 million). At the Wistka stop in the Łódź province, PLK will extend the scope of the project to strengthen the railway embankment. Additional work will result in the extension of the facility’s construction completion date to the end of the first quarter of 2025.

Since September, Radlin residents have gained better access to trains at the Radlin Areas stop on the Rybnik – Wodzisław Śląski railway line. Passengers can use a rebuilt, comfortable platform, which has been raised to make it easier to get on and off the trains. Under the project, PLK has rebuilt the track and the traction network at the station and is currently building a safe level crossing with monitoring system, thanks to which the stop will be adapted to the needs of passengers with limited mobility. A parking lot with 9 available spaces will also be built at the stop.
