“Line 5 of Bucharest metro, Raul Doamnei – Eroilor section is 67 percent finalised. The EUR 571 million project includes the construction of 6.87 km line, 10 metro stations and one depot. We want to put into commercial service in the first quarter of 2017,”, Marin Aldea Metrorex general director said, during Railway PRO Innovating with smart railway infrastructures Forum, organised by Railway PRO and Club Feroviar, on 24-25 February.
Another development project of Metrorex is the extension of Line 4, on Parc Bazilescu- Straulesti section (2.24 km), that is part of Gara de Nord-Lac Straulesti Line (7.67 km). The project includes the extension of the Line 4 with two metrou stations and 70 percent it is finalised, the general director said. The new section will be launched in December 2016. The total value of the project is EUR 139.7 million that are provided through externa grants and EUR 35.1 million are coming from state budget.
There is a part of the financing of these two projects, and, to continue them, Metrorex will ask Government to allot new funds, under the revised budget.
