The procurement commission at Pasazieru vilciens has approved launching negotiations with all five bidders in the tender for electric trains launched by the company. The bidders are Spanish company Patentes Talgo S.L., Swiss company Stadler’s Polish subsidiary Stadler Polska Sp. z o.o., Siemens AG and Sinara Group’s Russian joint venture Uralskie lokomotivi, Spanish company CAF, and Czech company Skoda vagonka a.s.
Pasazieru vilciens is planning to buy 32 new suburban passenger electric trains, equipment for their maintenance, and spare parts. The contract includes personnel training and the supply of documents necessary for train maintenance.
The negociations will start at the beginning of this year. The companies will have 75 days to submit their offers. A 36-month contract will be signed with the winning bidder.
“The fact that all companies that participated in the first round of the procurement have been shortlisted for the second round shows once again that we have chosen the best format of negotiations, which will ensure competition and give us opportunity to choose the best bid,” said Pasazieru vilciens CEO Andris Lubans.
