Alstom, Bombardier, Siemens, and Stadler were shortlisted by the Netherlands Railways (NS) for the final stage of the new EMUs aquisition project. NS expects to award the contract this summer, and the trains sould be put into operation starting with 2021.
NS dind’t published the number of trains that intends to purchase, but announced that the order is for 25,000 seats.
The tender was released in July 2014.
