In the first half of 2016, RZD invested approx. RUB 10.8 billion (EUR 155 million) in the renovation of the locomotive fleet of Zabaikal Railways, a branch of RZD.
In January-June 2016, the Zabaikal (Transbaikalian) Traction Directorate received 43 electric locomotives of the Ermak series, 5 shunting diesel locomotives of the TEM18dm series as well as 3 TEP70bs diesel locomotives which will provide passenger transport services at non-electrified rail track sections.
Zabaikal Railways will receive 54 more Ermak locomotives until the end of 2016.
