The Queensland government is inviting organisations to register their interest in the design and construction contract. The deadline is August 28. It has requested that GoldLinQ – the current operator – initiate industry engagement to investigate the 7.3km extension of the light railway. The project is will enable a seamless public transport connection from the existing Gold Coast Light Rail to heavy rail services and Brisbane.
GoldLinQ invites organisations to apply for registration to submit an expression of interest. A key objective of the project is to ensure operation prior to the Commonwealth Games in early 2018.
