Polish rail infrastructure manager PKP PLK signed two contracts valuated at PLN 646 million (EUR 152 million) for the modernisation of Warsaw-Radom line.
In 2018 will be launched the works for the modernisation of two rail sections. For the 20 km rail section between Czachówek and Warka works should be completed in 2020, and the modernisation works for the 43 km line between Warka and Radom are expected to be finalised in 2021.
The EUR 101 million (PLN 429 million) contract for Warka – Radom reconstruction was signed with a consortium formed by Swietelsky Rail Polska (as the leader of the consortium), Track Tec Construction, Swietelsky Baugesellschaft m.b.H., Infrakol, Leonhard Weiss GMBH & CO.KG and Intop Warszawa.
The works between Warka and Radom will include the modernisation of the line and the construction of a seconf line, and the installation of modern traffic control devices and switches.
The contract for the reconstruction of Czachówek – Warka section has a total value of EUR 51 million (PLN 217 million) and was signed with a consortium formed by Strabag Sp. z o.o (the leader), Strabag Rail GmbH, Strabag Rail a.s., Strabag Általános Építő Kft., ZUE and Budimex. For this section, the project involves the modernisation of the infrastructure and the installation of new traffic control devices and switches.
EUR 424.5 million (PLN 1.8 billion) is the total value of the investment for the reconstruction of the line No.8, between Warsaw, Okęcie and Radom, including the modernisation of the stations along the route.
The whole project involves the modernisation of 63 km line, 31 road-rail crossings, 8 viaducts, 3 stations and 10 passenger stops, and the construction of 3 new passenger stops.
