Tver Carriage Building (TVZ) and Russian Federal Passenger Company (FPC) signed an agreement for the supply of 106 double-deck coaches between 2017 and 2018. The value of the agreement is RUB 10.6 billion (USD 185.6million) including VAT.
Under the agreement, in 2017, TVZ will deliver 41 double-deck coaches that will be put into commercial service on Adler-Rostov, Kislovodsk-Moscow and St. Petersburg-Adler routes. All wagons must be delivered until November.
In 2018, FPC will receive 65 wagons.
The wagons will be manufactured taking into account the domestic car building practices, using the latest technology, equipment and materials. The cars will have centralized energy supply systems and modern climate systems.
The first double-deck coaches were put into operation in 2013 on Moscow-Adler route, and starting 2015 they run on route from Moscow to 4 railway routes as St. Petersburg, Kazan, Voronezh and Samara.
