Tülomsaş, the Turkish locomotive and freight car manufacturer, has presented a new type of car-carrier wagon.
The Turkish state-owned company has announced the beginning of the series production for this new type of wagons. The company said the design period was completed and necessary steps for the certification of rolling stock were taken.
The Hccrrs is a double-decked wagon weighing 39 tonnes. The wagon is 31-m long and 4.57 m high. The new Hccrrs wagons can carry 12 cars simultaneously.
Certification according to STI standards is completed so the wagons are available for international use.
Tülomsaş said these wagons are frequently used in both the US and Europe. In Turkey, they are used to carry cars imported from Central Europe. Renault, Skoda, BMW and Mercedes are among the car manufacturers which deliver their products using this type of wagons.
Since the beginning of 2018, Omsan Logistics, one of the most important private railway operators in the Turkish market, has begun using railways for the transport of cars on Izmit-Adana route.
