TransNamib wants to acquire 21 secondhand diesel locomotives. The operator recently secured the deal to acquire 10 South African General Electric-built class 33 diesels, reconditioned by Transnet Engineering, the total will rise shortly to 31.
In addition, Transnet Engineering will also refurbish 11 existing TransNamib U20Cs.
